Roger Ballen.

I had the opportunity to see Roger Ballen give a lecture last Fall at the Photographic Resource Center here in Boston. He is a supremely talented, mysterious, and slightly quirky man, and all of these attributes are mirrored in his work.

voodoo.

I came very, very close to buying a voodoo flag a couple years ago. I love them for their colorful, symbolic and spiritual imagery. Maybe one day...

Leonardo da Vinci

I am wrapping up my Italian Renaissance art class in about a week. The artists from this era are really amazing, and their skills are beyond comprehension. I particularly love the drawings of Leonardo da Vinci.

my brother.

I am not the only artist in my family. My brother happens to be a graffiti artist, screen printer, and magician amongst many other things. He does some pretty great work and was recently featured in the book Graffiti Planet 2.

Janne Peters.

Janne Peters is an amazing photographer. I first became familiar with her through her food work, but everything she does is pretty amazing. She has such a unique and contemporary style. This particular series, Rosa Faden, always melts my heart.

welcome.

I just came across this beautiful images from photographer Ed Martin who is 84 years old. There are many people out there who shoot images of flowers but very few who actually do it from an original and unique point of view. In his process he uses a scanner and razor blade to render the plants in new ways.
